And I decided that they totally picked all the wrong singles.
The 1st single should’ve been Scheiße. Its risky and catchy and defines the album better than Born This Way which was clearly released just to capitalize off of the Madonna controversy and the exploitation of her gay fans. The truth is though, that she could’ve released any song as the first single and it would’ve gone #1.
The 2nd single should’ve been Marry The Night. Closer in sound to previous Gaga songs and would reassure older fans that she can still make great straight forward dance pop
The 3rd single, I think, should’ve been Hair. I think its better than Born This Way while still getting the same “love yourself” message across. A beautiful mid tempo number is always a great choice for a 3rd single.
As the 4th Single I think The Edge of Glory would be nice. Especially if it was given a much better video than the one we got.
As a nice bonus, I think a cool and risky 5th single could’ve been Bloody Mary or Electric Chapel. I don’t understand why so many people dislike Bloody Mary, I think its one of the best parts of an album thats so uneven to begin with. And Electric Chapel is just cool all around.
In the end i just thought Born This Way and Judas are better as album cuts and You and I is a great song, but not a good choice for a single.
I hope this doesn’t upset any Monsters. I’m just bored and sharing my opinion. Don’t get your panties in a twist.
