I've got lots of opinions and interests. I also talk about my struggle with anxiety and depression.. Enjoy :)
So I had a surprise birthday celebration today and my friends took me out to a preview screening of Katy Perry’s concert/rockumentary movie that doesn’t come out till Thursday. As soon as I saw the trailer for this movie I was very excited. I’m a pretty big Katy Perry fan and was lucky enough to see her on tour last year. The movie is just like Katy Perry. Lots of bright colors, fun wigs, wacky costumes, and the vibrant concert is bold and exciting and very fun to relive. The concert footage is shot very well with pointless little 3D effects. The documentary side tells the story of Katy’s rise and struggle to find success (and an understanding record label). We also see the demise of her short marriage to Russell Brand (whose appearances in the film resulted in loud boos from the audience in the theatre.) Compared to the Justin Bieber concert movie, Never Say Never, Part Of Me is lightyears better. The concert footage pops with bright colors, great performing and great songs. And the documentary side actually attempts to show the true Katy, unlike Never Say Never which didn’t even include personal interviews with Justin. We see Katy be funny but we also see her cry in her make up chair, drowsily be unable to get up from a nap, and attempt to hold back her tears as she rises up to the stage forcing a fake smile. The film was funny, sad, and very inspirational. I really enjoyed it.
It’s never easy to be chosen, never easy to be called. Standing on the front line when the bombs start to fall. I can see the heavens but I still hear the flames calling out my name. I can see the writing on the wall, I can’t ignore this war. At the end of it all, who am I living for?
